Around this time of year, we are bombarded with resolutions and statistics on how so many people don’t achieve their goals. It is honestly kind of discouraging. A lot of people will tell you not to bother making them because most likely, you won’t keep your resolutions.
What do you lose by making New Year’s resolutions? Nothing really. But you will gain determination and drive. Even if you don’t fully achieve them at least you tried. I think you should constantly be working on yourself and I think that can include making New Year’s resolutions (not that you should only make goals once a year).
I think making realistic goals at least a few times a year will add to your success. Writing your goals down and referring back to them will keep you accountable. You also don’t have to wait until January 1st to start your goals. If you want to make some changes to your diet, start a few weeks before the New Year so your used to it and it’s not a shock. Do most people give up on their resolutions? Yes, but does that mean you shouldn’t make them? No, you should constantly be working on bettering yourself and New Year’s resolutions can help. While you might not lose those twenty pounds in 2017, you will be more consistent and goal oriented in your daily life.
I hope this help some of you decide if it’s worth making goals for 2017. Thanks for reading!
